Week of May 20, 2012

Wow!! This couple knows how to HAVE FUN!!!

The Memorial Day weekend is here and Lake Palestine is jumping with a slough of fun, exciting things to do. We started the weekend right! On the water by 5:30 and into some extreme top water action. The sand bass were dancing on the surface and the customers were beyond excited. Had a limit of white bass and plenty of blue cats for our fish fry. We’re also catching black bass everyday, so if this is what your after you may want to consider Lake Palestine for your next outing.

The water level on Lake Palestine, Cedar Creek and Richland Chambers is just a bit below surface level and the water temperature is in the 70’s. The bite is best early morning and late evening as the water warms. We’re still having great success near the island at daylight for white bass on the surface and black bass around the boat houses deep. We have caught most of the black bass and blue cat on live bait and  we’re using a variety of lures from Moe’s Tackle Shop for our white bass as well as Red eye shad and my old trusted, Little George.

Hope you all have a safe Memorial Day weekend!
